Bulldozers are used to clear land, road structures or similar work, and are important machinery in engineering construction. Usually we see bulldozers that are huge, so do you know how big the world’s largest bulldozer is?
1. ACCO
This is the world’s largest crawler bulldozer to date. The Italian ACCO company specially designed and manufactured this machine for a large earthwork project it contracted. It was successfully tested in Italy in 1983, but unfortunately it did not enter the construction site at the time due to some reasons. Later, it has not found a suitable place to use it and has been idle in a warehouse in Italy. The bulldozer uses a lot of American CAT’s bulldozer technology, including CAT’s gearbox, two high-horsepower V8 engines and CAT’s unique “high drive” technology.
ACCO main technical data:
* Maximum power: 956kW (1301 horsepower)
* Working weight: 183 tons
2. KOMATSU D575A-3SD
This is the world’s largest bulldozer currently in production. It uses Komatsu’s SA12V170E (12-cylinder turbocharged) diesel engine with a displacement of 46.3 liters, a fuel tank capacity of 2100 liters, three forward gears and three reverse gears, and a machine length of 11.72 meters.
D575A-3SD main technical data:
* Net power: 858kW (1167 horsepower)/1800rpm
* Working weight: 153 tons
3. CATERPILLAR D11T CD
The D11 series is CAT’s largest bulldozer at present. The T-type is currently produced. It uses a Cat C32 ACERT diesel engine with a displacement of 32 liters, a fuel tank capacity of 1609 liters, forward (3 speeds) 0-7.3km/h, reverse (3 speeds) 0-8.7km/h.
D11T CD main technical data:
* Maximum power: 698kW (950 horsepower)/1800rpm
* Working weight: 113 tons
4. KOMATSU D475A-5SD
The latest version of D475A-5SD uses the KOMATSU SAA12V140E-3 12-cylinder engine with a fuel tank capacity of 1670 liters.
D475A-5SD main technical data:
* Maximum power: 671kW (913 horsepower)/2000rpm
* Working weight: 113 tons
5. ChTZ T-800
T-800 is produced by the Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant in Russia. It has a hydraulic-mechanical transmission mode and is equipped with a 6-cylinder supercharged diesel engine produced by Tube Motor—6DM-21T. It has 4 forward gears and 2 reverse gears. Its main application purpose is to move a large amount of materials in industries such as mining where the soil is severely frozen. Only 8 units of this model were produced, and the use effect was not good due to technical reasons.
Main technical data of T-800:
* Maximum power: 603kW (820 horsepower)/1500rpm
* Working weight: 106 tons
6. Promtractor T-50.01
A Russian product, this model first appeared in the late 1980s. T-50.01 uses an American Cummins engine, with 3 speeds in forward/reverse, a track width of 740 mm, and can be equipped with a 5.9-meter-wide U-shaped blade.
Main technical data of T-50.01:
* Maximum power: 552kW (751 horsepower)/1800rpm
* Working weight: 93.5 tons
7. CATERPILLAR D10T
D10 appeared in 1978 and was the world’s largest bulldozer at the time. Later, it developed N, R and the current T models. The engine of D10T is a 12-cylinder Cat C27 ACERT.
D10T main technical data:
* Maximum power: 493kW (671 horsepower)/1800rpm
* Working weight: 66 tons
8. KOMATSU D375A-6
D375A-6 uses a 23-liter KOMATSU SAA6D170E-3 engine, a 1200-liter fuel tank, and a maximum moving speed of 15.8 km/h.
D375A-6 main technical data:
* Maximum power: 474kW (645 horsepower)/1800rpm
* Working weight: 72 tons
9. Fiat-Allis FD50
After the joint venture, Italy’s Fiat-Allis launched the 41B bulldozer in 1974, which was later improved to FD50 in 1982. The FD50 is equipped with a Cummins VT28-C engine. Due to market reasons, Fiat-Allis stopped the production of FD50 in 1989.
FD50 main technical data:
* Maximum power: about 600 horsepower
* Working weight: 80 tons
10. Promtractor CHETRA HEAVY 40Ya
This model uses a YaMZ-E856 diesel engine, a fuel tank capacity of 1200 liters, 3 speeds forward/reverse, 2 sprocket wheels on each side of the chain track, and 6 supporting wheels.
CHETRA HEAVY 40Ya main technical data:
* Maximum power: 434kW (590 horsepower)/2100rpm
* Working weight: 68.5 tons
The above are the 10 largest crawler bulldozers made by humans (if there are omissions/errors, please add/correct the instructions: there are old versions of the corresponding upgraded models, which are no longer included in these 10 models.
