Precautions when using the bulldozer

1. Before using a new machine, it should go through a running-in phase and should not be put into use directly. During the “running-in” process, special attention should be paid to lubrication and maintenance, as well as instrument inspection work, and faults should be promptly eliminated.

2. When the ambient temperature is lower than 5°C, the cooling water should be heated to 80°C and then added to the water tank until the drain valve flows out and is closed, and then continue to fill it up.

3. During the starting process: Do not pull directly from neutral to the second or third gear position to avoid excessive starting speed of the second-hand bulldozer, causing excessive impact load on the transmission components. Before shifting gears, do not pull the throttle lever to the maximum throttle position, and the position of each lever plate must be accurate and thorough, and do not stop, so as to avoid the clutch friction plate slipping and causing serious burns and wear.

4. After the diesel engine is started, it must be preheated without load. If the oil temperature does not reach the working range, do not start driving.

5. During the speed change and forward and backward process: When operating the speed change lever, you should first step on the accelerator pedal and then pull the speed change lever. If the vehicle does not move when it is pulled from a certain gear to the required gear, it can be pulled from a certain gear to the neutral position, and then pulled to the required gear. If there is no special need, avoid turning in place at high speed to avoid serious wear or other damage to the travel system.

6. Driving on uneven roads or on water-containing ground:
Try to drive at a low speed as much as possible to avoid emergency and frequent turns. When driving on rocky roads, the track tension should be slightly tightened to reduce track wear. The shovel and loosening teeth should not be picked up too high, generally 400mm from the ground. When crossing large obstacles, you should drive slowly at a low speed. Avoid crossing tall obstacles at an angle, and do not pull the steering and brake lever to “separate” the steering clutch on one side as a crossing measure. When the bulldozer is driving on water-containing ground, the diesel engine fan should not be placed on the water surface to stir water.

7. When parking and shutting down the diesel engine: In order to ensure safety and avoid accidents, the shovel should be dropped to the ground before the diesel engine is shut down.

8. In shoveling and loosening operations: In shoveling or loosening operations, if you encounter great resistance and cannot move forward, you should stop shoveling or loosening operations immediately. Do not force the operation. You should take measures such as adjusting the cutting amount of the working device or retreating the bulldozer. During the shoveling or loosening operation of the bulldozer, you should try to avoid pulling the steering and brake levers. When the bulldozer’s forward direction needs to be adjusted, the bulldozer load should be reduced to a certain extent before pulling the steering and brake levers.
When hard objects such as stones are sandwiched between the crawler and the walking part and other parts, you should drive in the opposite direction at a low speed to remove the hard objects before operating. Do not run the engine at full speed for too long, especially when using the Chongqing factory “Cummins” engine, to prevent the combustion room temperature from being too low, the fuel cannot be completely burned, causing carbon deposits, blocking the spray hole, stuck valves and other faults.

9. Driving on steep slopes:
The bulldozer slope angle cannot be greater than 30 degrees in the longitudinal direction and 25 degrees in the lateral direction. Under normal circumstances, large-angle slopes should be avoided, especially large-angle slopes in the lateral direction. If it is necessary to drive on a steep slope, the driver should undergo certain training or select experienced people to prevent accidents. When the bulldozer is moving forward or downhill on a steep slope, a low gear should be selected, the diesel engine throttle lever should be placed in a small opening position, and the total brake pedal should be controlled to prevent the bulldozer from slipping.
When the bulldozer is moving forward or downhill on a steep slope, if steering is required, the operation process can be the same as the steering operation process under normal circumstances. However, since the weight of the bulldozer itself can produce a downward trend on the land slope, the time spent pulling the steering and brake levers should not be too long. If the lever is pulled halfway, only one side of the steering clutch is disengaged, and the bulldozer will slowly turn to the opposite side under the influence of its own weight. This is the opposite of the steering effect on flat ground, please pay attention to the operator.
